Now, if you walked up to someone and said, “NYPD, you’re under arrest!”, and proceed to mirandize and handcuff them, then, yes, you’d surely get in trouble. But if you don’t do that, could someone still look at your NYPD Hawaiian shirt and NYPD baseball cap and think that you’re a realy LEO? Well, you’d be surprised his clueless some tourists get, but I doubt that anyone would hold you responsible for their misconceptions.
